I find that often it is only a small fault that causes your appliance or electric motor to operate In correctly.
We can be led to believe all breakdowns require a major and expensive repair and are therefore not worth the work. Don't write your equipment off straight away, it may be easier and more affordable to repair than you think. I can take a look, and with access to a large range of original and second hard parts, and the ability to modify less expensive parts to fit the purpose I might be able to find the fix you need for a fraction of the replacement cost.
I will give an honest and early diagnosis on whether it is economical to repair your appliance/equipment. If the appliance is not repairable, I will charge a minimal or zero fee (dependant on time taken and any travel time).
NO JOB IS TOO SMALL- if I fix it in 10 minutes, I won't charge you for an hour! I know what things are worth and I also know how easy some things are to fix. I believe that if it's not worth a great deal and it can be fixed in a short time, then why not charge accordingly?

I also provide a BASIC HOUSEHOLD CHECK-UP which consists of an inspection for leakages & plumbing problems both under the house (if accessible) and in the attic.. I will also check if your insulation is installed and spaced efficiently.. I will check your hot water cylinder and adjust to the most efficient temperature, which may save you a surprising amount on your power bill. Fridges and freezers are also a big electricity consumer so these should be operated at correct temp and no less, which I can check for you also.
The check-up will take up to 30 minutes typically, which includes any adjusting needed to your fridge, freezer or hot water cylinder. Any issues requiring attention will be specified on your household checklist.
Hot water cylinders and appliances like fridges and freezers are big electricity consumers in the home. If these are set at the wrong temperature or are running inefficiently they use even more electricity. As part of the Household check-up I will check your cylinder and appliances and make any adjustments to ensure they run correctly. You will be surprised with how much this simple check could save on your power bill!
At the end of the check-up I will provide you with a household checklist specifying any issues that need attention.

I was bought up on a farm where I learnt to use a wide range of equipment and machinery. After moving on from the farm I worked in the silage industry for many years operating all types of machinery from a JCB for mowing through to a Claas 820 silage chopper, before running a small baling business in South Canterbury. I still hold all of the licences required to run this machinery.
Over this time I spent many hours in excavators, laying pipes and shifting shingle etc.

Alternative Energy Production
I am really interested in energy and as you know it is inevitable that alternative means of energy production will be needed for supplying energy for houses and transportation. I’m currently looking at a hydro generator that is made from low cost recycled parts and can produce enough electricity to run small appliances. The generator does not require a high speed water or filtering system at the dam, so is therefore lower maintenance and more cost effective for the consumer.
